The Dark Galaxy

I'm continually working on embracing chaos in my work. I'm a bit of a perfectionist in my work, so I like it when things are neat and even.

The thing is, though, allowing things to be uneven can make them more interesting.

Dark Galaxy Bowl
Clay - Buff with Ochre
Decoration - Pinnell Green
Firing - Cone 10 Gas Reduction

On a lighter clay, this glaze is more blue/green, and some that can be seen where the glaze is thicker. The thinner parts allow more of the clay color to come through. The sort of metallic black is nice, but with the extra colors, I like the piece so much better.
